La organización 'Film Independent' ha anunciado sus nominados a los Independent Spirit Awards 2020, una ceremonia que se celebrará el próximo 8 de febrero.

El faro (Robert Eggers, 2019) y Uncut Gems (Ben Safdie, Joshua Safdie, 2019) son las que parten con más nominaciones, subrayando el imprescindible papel de A24 en la versión más independiente de la industria actual.

Los 'Independent Spirit Awards' se entregan desde 1984. La entrega de premios se celebra en una playa de Santa Mónica (California), un día antes de la ceremonia de los Oscars. En 2013 el premio a mejor película fue para 12 años de esclavitud, de Steve McQueen, que consiguió el galardón un día antes de alzarse con el Oscar a mejor película; lo mismo sucedió con Birdman, de Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Spotlight, de Tom McCarthy y Moonlight, de Barry Jenkins.
